Counseling / Counselor's Letter

Head of Counseling Department

Dear Parents,

At BBS we believe in the power of counseling as a vital tool to influence students positively, thus building healthy generations and communities! Our counseling team at BBS strives to address the developmental needs of students through a comprehensive school counseling program in three critical areas: academic, personal/social, and career. Our aim is to help students resolve learning difficulties, emotional, social or behavioral problems, and help them develop a clear career focus or sense of direction. This is because we strongly believe that effective counseling programs are important to the school climate and a crucial element in improving the student's academic, professional, social, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. People often ask, "Why counseling?", "What can counseling do?" In simple terms, counseling helps prevent "normal" problems from becoming serious! The latter could result in misbehavior, school failure, and emotional disturbance. Counseling also creates a healthy environment to help students cope with the various stresses and conflicts of their growth and development. We realize the need for all students to attend school in a safe and caring environment. That's why the Counseling Department at BBS has designed a Preventive Curriculum which promotes anti-bullying, conflict resolution and other programs that foster a positive school climate. Parents' involvement in our counseling program also plays a vital role in developing our curriculum and in bridging home and school. Therefore, at BBS, we strongly believe in parents as positive agents of change in the students' lives. Our counselorā€parents relationship is based on trust, transparency and confidentiality, with the students' wellbeing in our mind. With God's grace our goal is to help students build bright futures, have peace within, and maximize their potential! If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact our offices either by telephone or by scheduling an appointment. Together we can support your child during stressful and critical situations and transitions. We look forward to working with you and your children this year. Best wishes for a great academic year!

Sincerely,
