Ms. Ruba Talih, our psychomotor therapist, taught our teachers techniques to use them when they need help in regulating their students’ emotions or behavior. They learned about relaxation, breathing exercises, reducing muscles tension and sensory stimulation. Moreover, Engaging students in breathing and movement activity helps them become more aware of their bodies. It teaches them how to use their breath as a tool to focus and calm down.
Mind-body exercises can help students learn to calm their minds and regulate their emotions. Some of the many benefits of introducing mind-body exercises into our classroom include learning better self-control, anxiety management, concentration and mental focus.
