Because healthy kids are better prepared to learn, our Cycle 2 Department celebrated the World Health Day at school in the most fun-educational way: “eat right, be bright”. Our students learned about nutritious eating habits with a vibrant, fun and colorful environment.
Through physical activities at FUNSCAPE, our second graders were given the chance to try new things, conquer their fears and build their confidence. They had a lot of fun enjoying different kinds of activities and having a delicious, yummy lunch as well.
In our constantly changing environment, having life skills is an essential part of being able to meet the challenges of everyday life. Our adapted curriculum works on improving life skills for students with learning diversities combining daily living, social, and job skills. The consideration of this plan stems from our commitment to developing self-regulated, independent, and responsible citizens guided by the school ethical and spiritual values.
K1 students went to “Playo”. This is what they said about their trip:
“We made our own chocolate tiramisu and it was, YUMMY!”
“We met the characters and enjoyed the show. We learned ‘Recycling helps keep our world clean’.”
“We danced and rode a ‘Choo, Choo Train’ all around the place. That was an exciting ride!”
“We climbed the maze all the way to the top and back. That was so cool!”
Grade 1 learners’ first experience at the public library left them with wonder in their eyes and happiness in their hearts. Their excitement could not be contained as they explored the wonders of reading.
From the Mad Hatter to Matilda, from Tracy Beaker to Gandalf, they have all defined our “Dress as your Favorite Character Day.”
With their dazzling costumes, Cycle II students brilliantly retold their stories from the perspective of their favorite character.
At BBS we believe that our educators are life-long learners. Therefore, during the past 2 months they attended several Professional Development (PD) workshops about best practices in assessment, play based learning and the importance of integration. PD sessions are an important and ongoing process at BBS and IBPYP that prepare the educators to develop and expand upon their skills and knowledge.
Congratulations to our BBS gymnasts who represented their school and won in the National Schools competition for gymnastics.
Rhythmic Gymnastics:
First place in ball and second in freehand and overall: Talia Abou Orom in Gr 4.
Second place in hoop and ball: Karen Hassan Ali in Gr 5.
Artistic Gymnastics:
Our gymnasts won the first and the third place overall and they received gold and silver medals!

نظّم قسم الحضارات في الحلقة الثانية يومًا مميزًا بعنوان: رحلة عبر التّاريخ.
تكلّلَ هذا اليوم بأجواء من الفرح والتّشويق من خلال مشاركة الطلاب بالعروض المسرحيّة والأغاني والرّقصات العائدة لكلّ حضارة، وخُتِمَ هذا اليوم بتذوّق الاطباق التقليدية اللذيذة.
Grade 5 learners enjoyed their trip to MACAM, the Modern And Contemporary Art Museum in a factory compound in Alita. Learners were engaged in activities to help foster creative development.
First, Learners explored nature through a beautiful hike. Then, they painted “mandala” designs using items from nature. Also, they played with clay and modeled shapes of their own. At the end, Learners were led in a guided tour through the Museum to explore thousands of Artifacts.
